Ricola successfully recertified as a B Corporation™ in accordance with the new B Lab Standards V2

Laufen, June 16, 2026 – Ricola has completed the rigorous recertification process in accordance with the new B Lab Standards V2 and has successfully recertified as a B Corporation™ (B Corp™). In doing so, the family company is once again taking a stand for responsible entrepreneurship.
The B Corp™ Certification is granted and administered by the global non-profit organization B Lab (represented in Switzerland by B Lab Switzerland) to companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Compliance with these standards is verified by an independent third party.
“The renewed B Corp™ certification is a strong signal for us,” says Jenny Kunz, Director of Sustainability. “It shows that we are on it – and that we have always taken responsibility in a dynamic environment and consistently forged ahead, instead of waiting.”
Recertification is associated with particularly lofty requirements: companies must regularly review and demonstrate that they are improving their performance and meeting strict criteria according to B Lab’s standards. Between the previous certification and this one, Ricola made progress in areas such as the sustainable sourcing of raw materials, climate protection and the environment, employee welfare and governance structures.
Since its founding, Ricola has been committed to sustainable values – from working with local mountain farmers to cultivate herbs to investing in responsible sugar beet cultivation with IP-Suisse. As a B Corp™, the company is committed to reconciling economic success with social and environmental responsibility.
With this recertification, Ricola has strengthened its position as a pioneer in sustainable business – both in Switzerland and internationally.
About Ricola
Ricola has been synonymous with herb specialities of tried-and-tested Swiss quality since 1930, and is now one of the most modern and innovative producers of lozenges in the world. The Swiss family company is headquartered in Laufen near Basel and has subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and the US. Ricola employs more than 600 people around the globe and exports over 60 varieties of herbal drops and speciality teas to 45 countries. The herbs used for this purpose flourish in carefully selected locations in the Swiss Alps, cultivated by around 100 contract farmers in accordance with Bio Suisse guidelines. As a certified B Corporation, Ricola pursues measurable goals so it can act in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible way – for example, by sustainably reducing the amount of sugar it uses and by using less packaging material. This stance, which is deeply rooted in Switzerland and its Alps, underpins Ricola’s innovative and far-sighted approach. The interplay of tradition and progress safeguards the family company’s long-term success and shapes its unique spirit.
