Freezing herbs in oil

  • Wash the herbs and pluck or cut off a few leaves.
  • Place the blend of herbs in an ice cube tray and muddle them gently – this helps release their flavor.
  • Pour the oil over the herbs.
  • Leave to harden in the freezer for 6 hours.
  • Tip: Herb cubes with oil are perfect for frying in a pan or for using in salad dressings.

Freezing herbs in water

  • Wash the herbs and mix them together in different combinations.
  • Finely chop the herbs and place them in the ice cube tray.
  • Pour water over the herbs.
  • Leave to harden in the freezer for 6 hours.
  • Tip: The herb cubes are perfect for using in salads or soups.
