A family company since 1930

Ricola is one of the world’s most innovative confectionery producers. The family company exports over 60 different specialist herb products to more than 45 countries in Europe, Asia and America. All of the products are produced in Switzerland. Ricola uses the best Swiss herbs to contribute to the well-being of consumers across the world.

At the start of the 1990s, Felix Richterich, son of Hans Peter Richterich and representative of the third generation, took over operational management. In 2012, he was named Chairman of the Board of Directors. Since May 1, 2019, Felix Richterich is focusing on his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors and is leading the Ricola Group AG from a strategic standpoint.

On May 1, 2019, Thomas P. Meier succeeded Felix Richterich as the CEO of Ricola.

  • The original 1930 Richterich confectionery business became a brand famous around the world. Ricola is still owned by the Richterich family.

  • Today, Ricola has over 600 employees across the globe, with 480 of them based in Switzerland.

  • In total, Ricola offers over 60 different products in more than 45 countries.

  • All Ricola specialist herb products are produced at the Laufen factory in Switzerland.

  • Nine billion delicious drops are produced by Ricola every year – which is around 43,000 a minute!

  • The Ricola Collection comprises contemporary Swiss art and promotes a number of cultural and creative artists. Furthermore, Ricola is holding architectural discussions with Herzog & de Meuron.
