Ricola herb farmers harvest the herbs only when the valuable active ingredients are at their peak. These substances are especially important in the production of Ricola herb specialties. The main active ingredients are found in the leaves, flowers or roots. Freshly harvested plants are immediately transported for drying. Ricola monitors and constantly tests the quality of the herbs. Before the herbs are processed to create the Ricola herb specialties, we carry out final quality control tests at the production site in Laufen. Our quality inspectors test whether the supplied goods satisfy the company’s strict quality criteria: Freshness, color, fragrance, purity, content and quality of the active ingredients – everything has to be exactly right before we use the herbs in production.
